Could you help some amazing people to communicate, express themselves and connect with the world?
Do you want to make a positive difference to people’s lives?
About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Children’s and Family Support Worker in Sandwell. Working as part of the ‘Get Out There’ Group, you will provide support for children and young people who have a variety of disabilities, including autism, who live at home with their families.
The working hours are 3pm - 6pm on a weekday and then 9am - 5pm on a Saturday and/or Sunday. This is flexible around the days and the children would like support and the activities they enjoy. The hours can be split over a variety of days, so you won’t be working every day of the week. This opportunity is offered on a fixed term basis until the 31st March 2018.
As a Children’s and Family Support Worker, you will work one to one with a young person to develop their communication and life skills. You will help them grow in confidence and independence and support them to be able to access the wider community. This can include going swimming, to the park, learning to take the bus, or even attending sports and/or theatre classes.
About you
You will help to enable them to live the life that they choose.  We take great pride in the services that we provide and your dedication will strengthen this. You will have a great network of support with the wider team and other families, allowing you to share your ideas.
It is essential for this role that you hold a Level 2 Diploma in Caring for Young People Health and Social Care or equivalent. As this role works closely with children and their families, this support will require you to be available during the school holidays.
Being a Sense Support Worker can be the springboard to your future career - and to all sorts of opportunities and management roles.
To have a chat about the role and for more information please contact Lucy Howard; on 07971799792
