Coopers Fire Ltd designs, manufactures, services and installs gravity fail-safe smoke and fire curtains that offer the latest in building safety technology, making its products the first choice with designers, architects and engineers around the world. It is part of the Safety and Security Systems Division of the Lowe & Fletcher Group.

The UK based Lowe & Fletcher Group is a family owned business founded in 1889 and now chaired by its fifth generation executive Chairman. The majority of the Groups turnover is in its Locking Systems Division which designs and manufactures products for a wide range of OEM customers worldwide, with additional activity via its Safety and Security Systems Division in smoke and fire curtains, emergency lighting, back-up power and energy efficient lighting. The Group employs 800 people and has eight manufacturing sites in Europe and an assembly and sales operation in the USA.

The Role:

- Reporting to the Group Managing Director, Safety and Security Systems Division, you will have full P&L responsibility for the business.
- You will lead a full management team covering all functions including a service and maintenance profit centre.
- You will refine and implement the long term strategic plan for the business.
- You will be responsible for driving growth, engineering development, quality and process improvement throughout the business.
- You will liaise with other divisional and Group companies in developing commercial opportunities and operational improvements.

The Candidate:

- A graduate calibre proven MD with explicit engineering development experience of both technical products and operational processes.
- A track record of delivering profitable sales growth in a demanding business environment.
- Innovative, with an eye for detail and prudent cost management.
- Good numerical and IT skills, with experience of using integrated business systems.
- A good communicator, with an open and honest management style and a genuine empathy for the long term agenda of a family owned business.
