An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Yardhand to join our team based in Knowsley. In return, we offer a competitive salary, 25 days holiday to working time, plus statutory entitlement and death in service benefit.

The Yardhand will join the yard / filling team and will be responsible for maintaining Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder stocks and providing an efficient turnaround of vehicles whilst maintaining health & safety standards at the site.

Duties will include:

* Filling of LPG cylinders in accordance with Company standards & Codes of practice

* Ensuring cylinder filling stocks meets with supply & demand

* Loading and unloading of cylinders on vehicles and trailers

* Supervising the delivery of Bulk transfers

* Be active in the reporting of 'near misses'

* Complying to Operating Procedures and Works Instructions

* Handling of heavy objects

The successful Yardhand will:

* Be able to work in a team or on own initiative and able to follow instruction

* Have a positive attitude towards Health & Safety

* Be able to multi task effectively

* Have strong numeracy and literacy skills

* Have the ability to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues at all levels

* Be able to handle heavy objects and be comfortable working within a physically demanding role which involves manual handling of cylinders for extended periods of time

Desired skills:

* Experience of safe handling and storage of dangerous goods

* Counter balance Fork-Lift truck licence

* Full Driving licence

The hours or work are 45 per week. Applicants must be flexible regarding working hours.
