Business Development Manager

£42-£46k + 15% bonus + car
Area covered - Oxford down to Isle of Wight
The role will both focus on new business development activity together with taking on responsibility for existing accounts. The position would have a very rough 50:50 split between managing existing accounts and new business and would need to take on c. 10-12 live accounts ranging from significant strategic to local small. Typical accounts range between £250k to £2 million+ per annum.
The key responsibilities will include:-
Agree sales strategy for territory with Sales Director
Identify and win new business in accordance with this strategy
Establish and develop relationships with existing accounts and new business prospects
Meet agreed targets for new business growth from selected customers
Understand the customers business model and processes to identify new opportunities for the business to add value to the customer
Active involvement in marketing and promotional activities onsite
Provide area report to ensure that all customer and competitor activities are brought to the managements attention.
Work in conjunction with and provide support as required to the Sales/Business Development/Account Management/Technical/Design functions.
Follow agreed company procedures
The ideal candidate will:
Be educated to degree level or have a minimum of 2 years experience in a customer facing sales role.
Be experienced in dealing with major blue chip accounts/customers
Have good commercial and technical awareness and the ability to develop a multi layered sales offering.
Have good financial background and understanding of the key business drivers
Have good commercial acumen and awareness
Have good knowledge of customer sectors.
Be solution driven with the ability to frequently come up with new and innovative ideas
Be self-motivated and proactive.
Have excellent communication capability at all levels within a business.
