Greenacre Recruitment are working alongside a Housing Association in Hertfordshire to recruit a Planned Works Supervisor who has a proven track record of performance managing staff and the ability to deliver several projects on time and at pace. Experience of using IT systems for cost control, project management and record management is desirable as is a proven ability of managing and communicating with external contractors and other service suppliers.. The ideal candidate would have previous experience of management and supervision of Multi Trade Operatives along with, experience of working in social housing, project planning and an ability to apply cost control effectively.
Job purpose:
As Planned Works Supervisor you will have overall responsibility for delivering a number of projects including the planned programme of kitchens and bathroom replacement through the in-house team.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivering projects in line with the planned works programme.
Managing and supervising multi-trade operatives and subcontractors.
Project planning.
Administration
Cost Control
Negotiation with key suppliers.
Day to day responsibility of on site Health and Safety ensuring good working practices are maintained.
Communication with stakeholders including the client, subcontractors, suppliers, residents and direct labour.
Achieving resident and client satisfaction.
Person Specification
Essential:
A strong track record of working in social housing and supervising operatives and contractors
An excellent understanding of job control principles
Excellent communication skills
Excellent negotiating skills
Excellent organisation and time management
Project management skills with the ability to deliver several projects on time and at pace
Proven ability to survey properties and assess/implement appropriate plan of work
To set up planned works programme in Excel attribute resources as necessary.
Ability to act on initiative and without supervision
Ability to work well under pressure
A strong ability to foster sound internal and external relations
Decisiveness
Personable and flexible approach
The ability to use IT for cost control, project management and records management
Proven experienced in managing contracts and delivering programmes on time and within available budgets
A full understanding of H&S legislation including the Construction Design and Management Regulations.
Proven experience of managing and communicating with external contractors and other service suppliers
Desirable:
Site Management Safety Training (SMSTS)
Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS)
Ability to adapt to use any I.T package/technology
