I am currently looking to recruit an Electrically Biased Automation Maintenance Engineer to join my client based in Amesbury, Wiltshire
A night Shift role is also available paying a further £3,700
Purpose of the Role:
The Automation Engineers help run and maintain our automated handling system. The post holder is responsible for the running of the highbay/miniload cranes and conveyor systems as well as maintaining equipment to a high standard and keeping production downtime to an absolute minimum.
1. Main objectives and responsibilities
Maintain plant to reduce downtime
Keep maintenance software up to date
Oversee running of the system on a day-to-day basis
Organise maintenance between production requirement
Communicate effectively to all levels of management
To ensure work is carried out in accordance to good practice, legislations and company standards
Person Specification Automation Engineer
1. Knowledge and experience required
Approved Apprenticeship
Previous experience working on automated handling systems
Siemen PLC, profibus/asi communications
Working at heights is essential
An understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics
2. Skills and competencies
Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawing
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Excellent problem solving & fault diagnosis skills
Ability to plan and organise work schedules between production requirements
Ability to remain calm when under pressure
Ability to work on own initiative is imperative
3. Qualifications:
Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship
City & Guilds 16th / 17th Edition
Qualified to C&G/BTEC standard in Electrical Engineering
4. Awareness of working environment
Comply with statutory regulations & organisational safety requirements.
Isolation and de-isolations in accordance with Permit to Work code of practice
Understanding the requirements to run an automated plant
