Java Developer - Java, Agile, TDD

You`re getting tired of being told you`ll be working in a proper agile environment, you know it isn`t what you were told. The sprints aren`t often enough, they`re not following TDD the way they should, at least not often enough, you aren`t even using Java 8 as you`d like.

You obviously want to work in a proper agile environment and it`s worrying you that you aren`t staying relevant. You`ve tried to push your agileness on the business but they`re not having it. They`ll continue to work in agile but they`re just not agiley enough for you.

Why is this company agile enough for you? Because they work in a strict agile environment and train all their developers to follow suit. You`ll be the most agile person you know once you work in this team. What do I mean? I mean a test first approach to TDD, short periods between sprints and deploying to AWS. Using Java 8 and gaining expertise in it.

You hate having to clean up the mess left by your not so agile colleagues, you wish you were in an "own your own code" environment so the standards are raised and the quality comes through.

You`re bored aren`t you? Same old projects all the time, you want greenfield work. You want to get stuck in to something new but you don`t get the chance. You want to make difference.

You want to learn as well. If only you had an hour every day to work on your own projects and upskill in a technology of your choice, imagine how much better you`d become?

You love your surroundings and want to be impressed every time you walk in to your employer`s plush office. You want that wow factor instead of working in an office that is boring and lacks imagination.

You love summer and like to enjoy the rare bit of sunshine we get, so you want your employer to show they care and let you finish at 1pm on Friday`s so you can spend more time with your friends and family or have a bit of you time, after all, you deserve it.
