We are looking for several, strongly experienced CNC Turner Setter/Operators to join a well established engineering company in the B24 postcode of Birmingham.
These opportunities are permanent (with an initial probation period) and you will be responsible for the manufacture of a wide range of components specifically for the Aerospace, Aviation and Automotive industries.
You will be working within an Aircraft Systems cell, producing precision machined components to specific tolerances and customer requirements.
There are several fixed shift patterns required:
Weekend days: Fri-Sun 7am to 7pm
Weekend nights: Fri-Sun 7pm to 7am
Weekday nights: Mon-Thurs 7pm to 7am
Salary is based on experience and chosen shift pattern (i.e Weekend nights will be a higher salary than Weekday)
Main duties/responsibilities:
* Setting and Operating on 5 Axis Okuma Mill/Turn machines
* Working on specialist Okuma controls (similar to Fanuc and Siemens)
* Ensure quality output is carried out and completed on Job Card before commencing work
* Ensure the correct quantity of parts/material are present before commencing work
*Working within the Section targets for Productivity and Quality
* Ensure that the produced components are conforming by carrying out in process inspection
* Identify any non-conformance or problems immediately to Line Manager
* Ensure parts are packaged in a suitable manner to prevent damage
* Ensure that conforming parts are booked on Unity, either on completion of an operation or at the end of a shift, whichever is sooner.
* Responsible for accurate completion of TPM checks
Person Specification:
* Must be able to set and operate 5 Axis Mill/Turn or Turning machines
* Must be able to set and operate on Fanuc and/or Siemens controls
* Must have the initiative to work on their own as well as working within a team
* Experienced in using measuring equipment: Micrometers/Verniers/Calipers/CMM/Shadow graphs etc
* Must have a desire for continuous improvement
* Ideally be educated with an engineering apprenticeship or 5 years of relevant experience (specifically in the Aerospace/Aviation/Automotive industries)
* Must be used to working to deadlines
