Quantity Surveyor

House Builder - New Build - £180m - Quantity Surveyor

One of the UK's largest housebuilders and developers are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their new major project in Stratford. The successful Quantity Surveyor will be joining an organisation that operates from over 20 regional offices across England, Scotland and Wales. Aiming to build over 10,000 homes each year, that consist from one - bedroom apartments to 6 bedroom houses.

The Intermediate Quantity Surveyor will be working on a £180m major residential development that consists of 13 phases of 871 traditional and concreate frame units. As the Intermediate Quantity Surveyor, you will ideally be able to demonstrate your experience on a number of residential projects. This is a perfect opportunity for an Assistant or an Intermediate that wants exposure to larger schemes and is looking to take on greater responsibility.

Role: Quantity Surveyor

Duties:

* Build and maintain working relationships with supply chain and clients
* Ensure subcontract orders match the main contract requirements
* Place supply chain orders in accordance with the procurement schedule
* Price and agree all project variations
* Value, certify and issue subcontractors
* Manage and minimise non-recoverable costs on projects
* Promote resolution of subcontract final accounts
* Assist in the preparation of CVC reports
* Submit external valuations, making sure they meet the conditions of the main contract
* Full responsibility for the projects cash position
* Estimating when needed

Essential:

* Construction related degree
* Membership or working towards MCIOB or RICS
* Track record of successful procurement
* Detailed knowledge of relevant contract conditions
* Extensive knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Project
* Valid Driving Licence
* Appropriate CSCS card
