Press officer

Press Officers work as part of small specialist teams in the press office. They have particular portfolios with subjects they are responsible for offering media handling advice to Ministers, Special Advisers and officials on these areas.

Must have previous comms experience
Be able to write really well ie: websites, blogs, press releases

You will be supporting the development, implementation and monitoring of your areas local communications strategy, ensuring that the reputation of the organisation is protected at all times. You will be assisting the Senior Manager to manage, evaluate and assess the impact and delivery of the media, stakeholder management and public relations programme within our overall communications strategy and helping to instigate appropriate change and response to that evaluation. You will be coordinating internal communications messages and channels at local level and will be accountable for producing regular external communications. You will work closely with the national Advocacy and Communications team to maintain and update Arts Council Englands internal and external websites with information relating to local activities. You will maintain and update the local communications infrastructure, including updating the image bank and will contribute to building partnerships and close working relationships with appropriate external agencies and networks. You will be the first point of contact for media enquiries and will contribute to the development of national communications as required, acting as a source of knowledge and expertise regarding advocacy and communications on our funding portfolio and other areas of activity. You will assist in the planning and event management of briefings and events held locally. Finally, you will contribute to the organisations commitment to diversity and its implications for arts and culture, promoting a diversity perspective in all aspects of the posts objectives and activities

Price / Salary: £180 - £200/day
