I have an excellent opportunity for a Project Quantity Surveyor to work with a main contractor in Luton. This company is renowned for their projects in London and surrounding areas and are looking to add to their commercial team.

The purpose of the role is to assist the Commercial Manager in the delivery and governance of commercial services in a manner that achieves both value for money for our client and sustainable shareholder value consistent with the contract, tender and agreed processes in the spirit of mutual trust and co-operation.
Ensure excellence and best practice in the management, recording, administration and control of the commercial elements of the Contract and ensuring excellence in the management of the supply chain, contract management, administration and governance overall.
To ensure that the commercial team assess, Requisitions, Works Orders, Target Costs, Subcontract Liabilities, Actual Costs, Lump Sum Costs, Early Warning Notifications, Compensation Event, Forecast, Accruals etc. To be carried out correctly and recorded accurately. To ensure processes are in place to assist the timely production of the monthly application.

Knowledge, skills and experience:
Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
Highways experience.
Extensive knowledge of subcontract management.
Well-developed financial and project management skills including experience of managing contracts.
Understanding of local authority budgets and experience of budgetary governance, management and control measures.
Experience of managing diverse teams.
Experience of management of staff including performance management.
Experience in conducting effective negotiations with both Client and Subcontractors.
