Finishing Operative / Anodising

A vacancy has arisen for a Finishing Operative to work within the Finishing department at our client, a well established Aerospace / manufacturing business near Uxbridge, Middlesex. The role holder will be responsible for anodising complex detail components (both hard and soft) and a variety of sealing types. The role will also include passivation of stainless steel components.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Attaching a large variety of detail components to jigging racks
- Processing components manually through the required chemical process
- Removing the components from the respective jigs
- Inspecting the Finished components, measuring anodic film thickness, wiping down etc.
- Assisting in clean down and general housework to keep the area tidy
- Assist in the successful implementation of ongoing Lean Initiatives including 5S activities and Continuous Improvement programmes.
- Ensure that:
Processes are carried out in accordance with the laid down SOPs and Process Specifications within the Department.
Required quality standards are achieved.
All relevant Health and Safety regulations are adhered to at all times including Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments, SSWs arising from RAs/COSHH and Material Safety Data Sheets.
Work is completed in accordance with required work schedules.
Productivity is maintained so that the effectiveness and efficiency of the department is at the highest level.

Skills & Experience

- Experience in manual anodising
- Basic computer skills
- Use of basic hand tools

The ideal applicant will have previous experience in a Manufacturing background and be able to read technical drawings and specifications.
