A leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of diesel fuel injection test equipment are seeking a Technical Helpdesk Engineer to provide technical support and guidance to both the global distributor network and end users of the products.

Salary: up to £ 25,000 - £ 35,000 p.a. (plus on-call allowance)

The Role
Providing technical support to Sales, the Global Distributor Network and end users of a variety of products. Including fault finding of technical issues by remotely (telephone, email, Skype) guiding technicians through, at times, complex diagnostics to provide fast and accurate resolution. Recording all communications and after sales needs including enquiries, quotations, warranty, shipping, returns, invoicing and repairs. Account Management of incidents for key territories. Producing and executing training courses for customers. Assist with testing, introduction and release of new products as required.
The Candidate
HNC or Degree qualified in either electrical/electronics or mechanical engineering. The role would suit an engineer who enjoys the challenges and rewards of specialist technical diagnostics and customer relations. Experienced and with understanding of complete machine systems (control and measurement systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics) would be an advantage. Experience of capital equipment would also be desirable. A strong background in field service, site based maintenance &/or technical help desk. You must be able to understand and interpret technical assembly drawings, including hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical circuit diagrams. You will be experienced working with networks and software driven equipment.
Excellent customer service skills, ideally in a customer facing engineering role. You must be an excellent communicator, able to convey detailed and technical information effectively and in an understandable way.
The roll will require support of an out of hours on call rota - for which an on call allowance is payable. Travel to customer sites may also be required.
