Quality Manager & Lean Practices

My client is currently recruiting for a Quality Manager & Lean Practices, my client operates across multiple sectors including MOD, Commercial, Retail, Leisure, Student Accommodation and Education.
To develop and implement Quality Assurance and Lean Practices across our manufacturing and onsite operations, establish, implement and maintain a consistent Quality Management System and test inspection process for the business, whilst developing a strategy for Lean with the aim of improving overall quality and performance whilst reducing waste
Roles & Responsibilities
* Promote the ethos of Quality and Lean within all business activities (internal and external) with the aim of improving overall levels of quality, standards and performance. To develop and engender a culture of prevention, assessing and planning for Quality risk.
* Conduct analysis of material flow, business needs, production capacities, facility design and documentation of processes to support Lean practices.
* Ensure compliance to Key Quality Performance objectives and targets including monitoring performance against these and implementing corrective actions/raising non-conformances as and when required and ensuring their close out.
* Production, issuing and monitoring of all required quality documentation, including keeping up to date all required records.
* Ensuring compliance to, and implementation of, quality processes and procedures as required. Auditing product and inspecting/over checking product and processes as required.Â
* Maintaining adequate and appropriate records in accordance with business and client requirements.
* Ensuring compliance with project and product requirements and specifications including the monitoring and reporting of any issues with external Suppliers and Sub-contractors.
* Liaise with all departments, promoting a team working environment, ensuring compliance to company and client requirements, including certification bodies and third parties.
* Working closely with Sub-contractor Co-ordination personnel and their activities (including Quality inductions, attending meetings, etc.).
* Develop a close working relationship with Procurement personnel, to assist in Supplier Quality Assurance activities. To provide a link with these activities and Incoming Goods inspection activities, liaising, assisting and advising stores personnel in Quality related matters as required.
* Monitoring and reporting on sub-contractor performance in line with business and project requirements.
* Any other tasks deemed appropriate or required in the completion of the role.
LEAN Practices
* Administer a review process to select scope and prioritise continuous improvement initiatives.
* Identify and facilitate physical changes to manufacturing, in conjunction with the Group Production Manager promote implementation of Lean processes and greater efficiencies and remove waste from the process.
* Train and support staff in implementation of changes as well as training in Lean manufacturing principles. Ensure training extends from senior management to staff at every level.
* Analyse, evaluate and summarise outcomes of continuous improvement efforts.
