Job Description:

To support South Yorkshire (SY) local authorities in the delivery and promotion of active travel to schools.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Your main duties will be to deliver active travel promotion activities in identified schools (including primary, secondary and Special Educational Needs schools) to increase the number of pupils choosing active travel for the school journey.
This will be done by promoting and delivering sustainable and active travel activities and encouraging schools to get involved in local, regional and national initiatives, it will include travelling to schools on a regular basis and delivering numerous and various resources to enable schools to incentivise active travel to their pupils.

Qualifications & Education:

3 A-levels or NVQ equivalent.

Experience and knowledge:

Understanding of current transport policy, the key issues and challenges involved in the promotion of active travel and road safety.
Experience of working with children and young people.
Experience of delivering training, workshops and events.

Skills:

Ability to plan and allocate work tasks and to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Confident when using and familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel and other IT systems.
Effective communication skills
