Job Title: Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) Controller

Shift Pattern/Working Hours: Monday Friday 8:30 17:00 Days 40 hours

Job purpose:
As the MHE Controller you will be responsible for improving and monitoring site standards of all MHE users to ensure all users are following the correct methods of use. A critical part of this role will be the training of new and existing MHE users to an RTITB standard whilst also carrying out daily observations of users within the operation. In this role you will also be responsible for the management of the onsite fleet management system working closely with the Supply Chain Manager to drive efficiencies and control of damage.

Dimensions:
Ensure damage costs to MHE are kept to a minimum and monitor performance of individuals and our fleet provider:-
Repair charges.
First time fix rates.
Call outs.
MHE availability.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:
Must be counterbalance forklift truck trained.
Must be trained in the operation of MEWPs.
Must be RTITB accredited.
Excellent communication skills with strength to challenge any poor practises.
Excellent PC skills.
Ability to work under pressure juggling numerous tasks at times.
Flexible.
Attention to detail.
Driver of continuous improvement Always challenging current practises.

Communications and working relationships:
Supply Chain Manager - Liaising on daily progress.
Operations Management Team Liaising on any issues found.
MHE Fleet Provider Holding meetings with the contract manager.
All MHE Users Discussing observations, retesting, understanding roles and any issues they may have.
