Venatu Consulting are currently working in partnership with our client to recruit a Design Engineer. The purpose of the role will be to deal with Chassis Conversions, and previous experience within this sector is essential.

Responsibilities:

* Design, create and modify 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD

* Designing light/medium sheet metal work

* Designing light/medium/heavy metal fabrications

* Identifying customer requirements / specifications and reproducing into concept design

* Communicating with production at all levels

* Perform stress analysis to ensure the integrity of the product design

* Liaise with customers, from initial concept through to manufacturing

* Compiling bills of material

* Build good relationships with shop floor colleagues

* Advise and support shop floor colleagues in the production process

Skills and Attributes:

* HNC / HND Qualified

* Minimum 10 years' experience

* Experience working with Chassis Conversions is essential

* Hydraulics knowledge is essential

* Pneumatic and electrical knowledge is an advantage

* AutoCAD experience is essential

* Full project life cycle experience

* High attention to detail

* Excellent communication skills

* Good listening and questioning skills

* Ability to work on own initiative

* Computer literate
