OneCall24 are now supporting a private mental health group in Surrey and are in need of more experienced Healthcare Assistants for shift work and block bookings. You will play an essential role in supporting service users with mental health disabilities, promoting their independence and protecting their dignity. Your support will help clients to interact with friends, family and the local community. The post holder will also be expected to assist and support in the development of the service, and have a positive and dynamic approach, be able to demonstrate care and compassion and Trust values. The post at times involves working in challenging situations and requires sound communication and interpersonal skills. Team working skills and an ability to engage with service users in a therapeutic manner are essential. Working in partnership with the service user, carers and healthcare professional are central and key to this post.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans
Undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed to facilitate the well-being, dignity and treatment of all patients
Providing practical support and responsive care to patients who require assistance with intimate personal needs such as dressing, bathing and toileting activities, ensuring that such activities comply with procedures and the relevant healthcare legislation
Observing and monitoring the well-being of patients ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/the primary nurse and documented as appropriate
Developing and maintaining a good professional relationship with patients, colleagues and visitors
Responding promptly and courteously to requests and inquiries
To assist patients with their nutritional intake and ensure that food preferences are understood and acknowledge
To report accidents /incidents and any health and safety issues or concerns regarding residents wellbeing to the Registered Nurse and complete relevant paperwork.
Essential
Has achieved NVQ Level 2 in Care
Ability and willingness to use initiative

Good written and verbal English language and communication skills

Computer skills basic level
Desirable
Full Driving Licence
Has achieved NVQ Level 3 in Care
