About this company:

We are currently looking for Senior Materials Handling Engineer to work within the project development team of our clients US$2.9 billion multi-discipline engineering, procurement and construction project.
Reporting to the engineering manager, the successful candidate will contribute to the engineering design input at all stages from construction to operation.

Role / Responsibilities:

Duties Include:
Provide input into layouts and designs for conveyors, a material handling facility and a port
Manage the engineering interface for major equipment packages, including conveyors, HPGRs and ship loader
Coordinate various contractors to ensure battery limits are effectively managed
Supervise and co-ordinate the work of others within the team and co-ordinate work with engineers of other disciplines
Attend meetings and communicate with project team members and contractors to support on-going progress
Carry out onsite inspections to ensure systems are constructed in accordance with the design intentions
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team
Essential / Desirable experience required:
Essential Criteria:
Proven track record of design, construction and operation of material handling systems
Experience procuring major equipment
Experience supervising design consultants
A can do, hands on approach, ability to work well under pressure and prioritise workload to meet project needs
Flexible, adaptable and collaborative approach to multidisciplinary design, willing to engage across the design disciplines
Proven ability to work as part of a team
Committed to sustainable design with knowledge of current techniques and technologies as applied to own discipline and wider building services
Commercially aware
Competent user of Microsoft Office software including Word and Excel
