A large principal civil engineering contractor within the North West are looking for a Commercial Manager to lead their commercial function.

Job:
My client, a established and rapidly expanding civil contractor are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to drive their business forward. They are seeking a Senior Commercial Manager with extensive experience in the Civil Sector, with a proven track record of winning contracts and developing new and existing business, while possessing the mentality needed to succeed in a highly competitive market.

Responsibilities:

To analyse and review the current civils projects and to focus on
commercial and contractual matters
To liaise with the client and subcontractors at a high level & to report to
head office senior management monthly on project progress.
Supporting the sourcing of new opportunities required to achieve the
business strategy.
Engaging with all departments to ensure the requirements of all
disciplines are reflected
Assess Commercial Opportunities to maximise returns, or minimise
losses
Develop business relationships with clients, promoting the positive
image of the company.
Conduct management meetings, review budgets, performance, and
expectations and put measures in place to rectify problems. Praise
achievements and encourage as necessary
Monitor the progress of a project, promote a positive attitude towards
variations, ensure projects are completed on time and in budget
alongside the Contracts Managers

Experience:

10 years experience in the civil engineering sector working within heavy civils
Advanced knowledge of cost principals and procedures
Interpretation of specifications on various contracts
Experience of administering NEC contracts would be advantageous
Remuneration:
Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications

Price / Salary: £70000 - £85000/annum + package
