An excellent opportunity is now available for an experienced Merchandiser (at Junior or senior level) to join my client, a leading brand in retail, and based in their Norwich office.
You would be required to plan and deliver a product offer which satisfies the company product strategy & financial KPIs, and trade it to maximise sales and profitability.
Responsibilities
*Work closely with the buying team to analyse seasonal sales performance, profitability, consumer buying patterns, market trends and competitor activity to identify areas of opportunity and risk
*Work closely with the buying team to compile & present seasonal product strategy, sourcing strategy, pricing strategy and financial KPI's to senior management
*Work closely with the buying team to plan commercial and exciting ranges which meet the agreed strategy and deliver the agreed financial KPI's, and sign-off with senior management team
*Determine stock requirements in accordance with forecasts and sign-off with senior management team prior to placing with suppliers/factories
*Clearly communicate purchase orders requirements to 3rd party suppliers and production requirements to direct-sourcing team, and follow through to ensure they are fulfilled on time
*Develop close working relationships with existing and new suppliers to ensure key business objectives are met
*Analyse performance on an ongoing basis and work closely with the buying team to maximise profitability and minimise risk through efficient control of spend and stock levels
*Propose and manage promotional activity, communicating with all relevant departments to ensure successful implementation and effectiveness
*Liaise with showrooms to ensure product displays include best-sellers and new lines, and to remove discontinued lines, where appropriate
*Ensure showrooms are notified of all promotional activity and price changes in advance of 'go live' dates
*Monitor competitor and market activity and keep own skills, knowledge and experience up-to-date with the latest merchandising trends and techniques to ensure planning and trading processes are effective and up to date
*Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all relevant departments
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience
*A minimum of 3 years in a retail merchandising environment
*Good knowledge of planning and trading best practice gained from other major UK retailer/s
*Good knowledge and experience of the furniture and homeware markets
*Proven track record of successfully implementing product strategy and achieving financial targets
*Intermediate excel, word and powerpoint skills
