Production Manager - Doncaster - £30,000 - £32,000
Clemence Rogers are currently working in partnership with our client in the recruiting of a Production Manager to be based in Doncaster.
Main Purpose of the Job
To lead, manage and engage your team to convert departmental objectives into achievable tasks at the execution level. You must set performance standards and align resources to achieve these standards and targets. Provides management of production personnel across the shifts.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure that team operations, are conducted in manner which fully complies with health and safety, quality, environmental and corporate policies.
* To lead, motivate and inspire your teams to achieve production plans.
* Ensure the teams, through regular briefings and consultations, plays a full role within the context of the site and business to facilitate optimal performance
* Communicates and applies company philosophy, policies, procedures, and expectations to production staff and ensures compliance.
* Managing the development of the team, develop people capability and flexibility through effective employee relations, recruiting, training and development, and communication.
* Motivate, train and develop the team, managing its performance, to maintain an effective and flexible workforce capable of meeting its current and projected objectives.
* Deliver training, performance reviews, and development as appropriate.
* Ensure employees have proper access to necessary tools to perform assigned duties and that tools/equipment are routinely inspected and maintained.
* Completes standard and ad hoc reporting on production yields, material usage, and material loss data.
* Ensure the provision, maintenance and operation of optimum operating capacity, including processing and distribution, to satisfy production plan requirements, both current and projected.
* Maintain accurate production data and provide regular feedback to the planning function on production plan adherence in order that future schedules may be optimised.
* Plans, manages, and adjusts workload to optimize plant resources and meet scheduled production commitments to customers.
* Plans and manages production activities to ensure compliance with customer expectations for accuracy, quality, and timeliness. Develops and implements action plans to address production performance concerns or improve operations.
* Schedules plant resources based on capacity and customer demand to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
* Maximizes quality and productivity by understanding job standards for each function, and evaluating performance variances in order to identify root cause and closed loop corrective action.
* Implement and drive continuous improvement activities through defined best practices to reduce operational costs and meet company financial targets
* Have a strong understanding of the production process and activities within area of responsibility.
Ideal Candidate
* Experience in management and manufacturing activities.
* Ability to demonstrate strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
* Relevant academic qualifications or vocational skills could be advantageous for example: formal leadership training, continuous improvement, 5S, problem solving and relevant technical experience.
* Experience of continuous improvement
* Ability to motivate a team.
* Strong understanding of Health and Safety, preferably with IOSH qualifications or similar.
* Strong experience of employee performance management including absence management, disciplinary matters, appraisal process.
* Good IT skills
Working Monday to Friday on a permanent days role
