As part of our ongoing growth we are currently looking for a full time driver trainer to:
To deliver all aspects of training to the drivers,
Train members of the driving team in the safe operation of Skip, Roro, TRV,FEL, Cage, Transit, Flatbed (HiAb) vehicles.
Assessing drivers for both driving and operation of equipment; DTs are empowered to sign off drivers who meet the required standard and to recommend to Service Delivery Managers further training or other remedies for drivers who do not meet the standard.
Carry out driving assessments for all drivers on a rolling two year cycle.
Carrying out driver induction training, introducing and explaining company procedure.
Carry out site inductions across various sites.
Deliver Safe Systems of Work to all drivers.
Ensure all training records are kept up to date.
Dealing with Senior Management.
Training team members on Mobile Handsets, PDA, Mobile Phone & Apps.
Assessing new drivers in their driving ability/competence.
Implementing the drivers training matrix and ensuring refresher training requirements are met.
Carrying out investigations following incidents/accidents.
To communicate to the Service Delivery Managers any concerns you may have with any drivers.
Monitoring and reporting on driver compliance for the depot.
Providing practical driver training within the defined region; occasionally helping with training projects (e.g. acquisitions, campaigns) outside the region.
Helping to ensure that new drivers receive an induction that meets both Company and individual needs.
Maintaining close relations with Service Delivery Managers, operational traffic staff and drivers, being aware of operational and business needs and helping provide workable solutions.
The successful applicants must have the following attributes:
Minimum three years operational experience of waste collection modes (essential)
Excellent presentation skills
A passion for transport & operational H&S
Confident and outgoing personality
Proactive a self-starter
Flexible approach to working time (essential)
Excellent knowledge of EU and Working Time Regulations
PC literate
A good knowledge of Transport & Health & Safety legislation
A professional approach displaying credibility
Required licences or certifications:
Experienced LGV 1&2 Driver
CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence)

Price / Salary: £28000 - £32000/annum
