Principal Legal Officer (Hourly rate £50)

Here at Corus Consultancy, we are recruiting for a qualified Principal Legal Officer for our clients in Essex. This is a 3 month contract position with an immediate start.

You need to provide a highly efficient, solution-focused, and cost-effective legal service to facilitate the lawful exercise of the Council's functions and the achievement of its policies and objectives and at all times to safeguard the interests of the Council and propriety in the exercise of its functions.

Personal Duties

* Draft, revise and advise on complex legal and planning documentation concerning land transactions including disposal and acquisition of land and properties, compulsory purchase orders and associated statement of reasons and notices, residential and commercial leases and licences, detailed planning agreements and complex development agreements relating to the delivery of regeneration projects.

* Research and interpret legislation and any changes in legislation that relate or affect the regeneration projects and advise thereon.

* Undertake all legal work relating to the regeneration projects including preparing contracts for services, buildings and works and advising service clients thereon including matters relating to European Procurement Legislation, advising and undertaking work in relation to the acquisition and disposal of the Council's assets, all development related legal work including formulation of title reports, drafting of complex contractual documentation.

What we require from you?

* Have Minimum of five years' experience as a commercial property lawyer
* Practical experience of drafting complex legal documentation concerning land transactions including disposal and acquisition of land and properties, compulsory purchase orders and residential and commercial leases and licenses
* Have good practical knowledge of Land Law
* Have good practical knowledge of Planning Law
* Good practical knowledge of Contract Law
* Computer literate
* Must be a good team player
* Methodical in approach
* Have good communication skills
* Proactive and solution-oriented
* Solicitor or Barrister or the possessor of equivalent qualifications/ experience
