Production Manager & CAD Manager

Newbury, Wiltshire

Up to £45k DOE

My client is a well-established, nationally recognised signage company based in Newbury with a staff of 20. They are looking for an experienced manager with responsibility for Production and CAD. The Company has a track record of over 35 years' in a wide variety of market sectors, primarily blue chip, education and commercial clients.

The successful candidate will be heavily involved in managing the delivery of high-quality signage to the Company's clients, across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He/she will have production knowledge of all aspects of architectural sign-making, e.g. illuminated and non-illuminated signs, trays, lettering, internal wayfinding and sign systems as well as knowledge of or experience in sign installation.

They will also have the leadership skills needed to manage and motivate a well-established team and be able to demonstrate experience in people and project management, training, quality control, customer service and supply chain management.

Responsibilities will include:

* Accountability for the overall production process and installations
* Effective management of a production team
* Management of Digital Print
* Management of CAD
* Management of CNC
* Creation of production schedules and resources required to complete jobs
* Monitoring and improving the production process
* Effective liaison with Business Development and Accounts departments
* Conducting performance reviews and identifying training requirements
* Managing and improving health and safety
* Implementing a robust quality control system with the aim of zero defects
* Budget management

The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator at all levels, commercially astute and results orientated with a passion for quality and a strong will to succeed. He/she will have:

* Previous senior level management experience in a signage company
* Negotiation skills to manage the supply chain and improve the Company's buying power
* Strong written and computer literacy with the ability to deal with various software programmes and technologies
* CAD (CorelDraw and Illustrator) knowledge
* Knowledge of CNC machining and digital printing
* Excellent planning and organisational skills
* Experience of budgeting
* Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
* A clean driving licence
* An ability to see the bigger picture and yet have excellent attention to detail
