Responsibilities:
Lead the payroll and pensions function
Take the lead for preparation and production of weekly outsourced
payrolls
Ensure all staff are able to generate accurate and timely payments for
clients and their staff
Push for continual improvements within the workplace
Develop and implement the Payroll strategy
Identify and manage projects to improve payroll and pension systems,
processes and procedures enabling the delivery of world class
standards
Lead and manage Payroll Supervisors and the payroll function on a day
to day basis
Ensure the team has appropriate training
Ensure Heal and safety requirements are met

Requirements:
IPPM or CIPP qualified
Degree or equivalent qualification in a related subject or professional
experience within Payroll and/ or Service Centre environment
Knowledgeable in the following areas: UK Payroll legislation, NI, income
tax and the HMRC
Understanding of interfaces between payroll, finance and pension
In-depth payroll processing knowledge, including month end and year
end activities
Proven track record in building and leading a world class culture in the
provision of payroll and pension services within a complex organisation
Effective leadership and development of teams and direct reports
Knowledge and experience of producing payroll related computerised
client and performance related management information reports
Expertise in payroll and pension administration best practice
Proven track record in systems development and process re-
engineering to streamline and reduce transactional payroll processes
Able to develop teams and maintain strong work relationships
Excellent communication skills
Confident with handling complaints and general enquiries
Ability to work under pressure
