The Vacancy

Concord Education are looking for a qualified, or experienced SENCO to cover a period of maternity leave, from the beginning of January until May half-term, at a 4-11 Primary Academy located near Lowestoft and within easy commute of Great Yarmouth (25 mins) and Norwich (45 mins). Immediate meetings / interviews are available for suitable candidates.

The School

This school became an academy in 2016. It has approximately 400 pupils, most of whom are of white, British heritage. The number of pupils eligible for Pupil Premium funding is about average and the number with a disability, or statement of special educational needs is above average.

Ofsted

In 2015 this schools Ofsted rating dropped from good to inadequate. The reasons were primarily pupils slow progress in literacy and numeracy, poor standards of teaching and ineffective leadership. The Head teacher left at the end of the academic year and an interim Head, a new Business Manager and 8 new teachers were appointed. The school also became part of a local and successful Primary school trust in January 2016. Before this time, an Ofsted monitoring visit already confirmed that rapid progress had been made under the new regime. The Academy has become a positive place to work once again and the opportunity to contribute towards these improvements should be relished.
