An exciting new role with a world class leading expert in plant pathology is seeking a microbiologist to join the food quality and safety program. You will support the team manager in the delivery of microbiology project and will hold your own licence.
Duties include:
Support research and service delivery projects and provide expert biological safety advice to the microbiology specialist services team.
Project Management including training and supervising staff members.
Responsible for the delivery of ACPD Biohazard level 3 laboratory ensuring Health and Safety Executive (HSE) as well as Specialized Animal Pathogens Order (SAPO) legislation compliance.
Coordinate testing and reporting and liaising with internal and external customers.
Review code of practices and prepare risk assessment and operating procedures.
Act as a biological safety officer covering both containment level 2 and containment level 3 and SAPO safety officer
Work with an ISO9001 and ISO17025 compliance environment.
Ideal candidate:
ACDP Biohazard level 3 using traditional microbiological methods
CL3 laboratory management and working with CL2
BSO and SAPO Officer experience
Writing SOPs, COSHH, Risk Assessments and Codes of Practice for microbiological laboratories.
Previously worked to ISO 9001/ISO 17025, GLP or similar.
IT experience in the usage of corporate computer packages.
