Meridian Business Support is actively recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for our leading manufacturing client in Cardiff.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all shop floor machinery and equipment. Other duties will include:

* Controlling the TPM system
* Maintain and update the maintenance database
* Generate Risk Assessments and Dynamic Risk Assessments
* Establish and control a planned/ preventative maintenance schedule for production machinery
* Organise, communicate and control Contractors
* Generate Purchase Orders
* Work closely with Supervisors and Team Leaders
* Maintain maintenance areas to 5s standards

Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be flexible with regards to hours and be willing to work additional hours when required. Candidates must also be prepared to work outside of normal shift hours (call out) for emergency machine breakdowns.

To be considered for this role, candidates will be mechanical bias and be apprenticeship qualified or equivalent. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years maintenance experience within a Production environment.

Hours of work: Monday -Friday (8.00am - 4.30pm)
