As Logistics/Procurement Administrator the successful candidate will report directly to the Planning and Logistics
Team Leader. The main objective for the role is to raise purchase orders on suppliers and arrange transportation services with third party providers to support my clients commercial activities.
Key duties and responsibilities will include the following:
Processing purchase orders in response to sales orders processed
Timely arrangement of freight, taking into account customer performance and cost
Raising customs documentations
Capturing, assessing and tracking extra or non-standard costs
Verifying values for all payable invoices relating to transportation activities
Handling investigation into and reporting of all transport related incidents/accidents, customer complaints and supplier non-conformances
Monitoring and maintaining records of haulier performance against expected service levels
Running system reports and manipulating data as requested by the supply chain management team
Initiating and supporting continuous improvement
Providing backup and support to the supply chain team
Key skills and experience required:
Experience processing purchase orders for materials and transport services, tracking through to completion is essential
Understanding of ADR would be beneficial
Experience in planning and managing the movement of hazardous goods, including uses of SDS and bulk and packaged goods would be an advantage
Good administration and organisation skills are essential
Excellent communication skills including the ability to present information and be proactive at meetings
Excellent PC skills- advanced Excel skills would be a strong advantage
Working knowledge of Dangerous Goods Regulations would be an advantage
Good administration skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong organisational skills
Awareness of Customs and Excise and the application of duty would be an advantage
Hours of work: Monday Friday, 9.00am 5.00pm
Price / Salary: £18000 - £20000/annum
