EFW PROCESS ENGINEERS - MIDLANDS BASED

We are looking to recruit EFW Process Engineers to support the Energy Division team in the build out of our new incinerator projects at Leicester and Cheshire and also in the design and build of our small scale EFWs to be developed across several sites across the UK. These roles require a degree qualified Engineer with specific experience c 10 yrs + working on Waste Incineration Plant Process Engineering.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1 Ensure the provision of process engineering support for the development and design of Biffa`s new EFW plants.

2 Preparation of key metrics underpinning system design including mass & heat balances, Opex projections; process design and optimisation etc.

3 Provision of operational support to plant operational teams to provide frontline troubleshooting & process plant optimization.

4 Attend & present project updates at process and operational meetings.

5 To work with site teams to improve control of contractors, operational efficiency and effectiveness, and to deliver year on year improvement of performance.

6 To provide leadership and support to operational teams and provide best practice`s with respect to health and safety objectives.

7 To carry out any other reasonable job-related tasks.

NATURE AND SCOPE

- Job role involves split responsibilities. General process engineering support with data analysis and process tracking with respect to KPI`s.
- Project management of new projects from conception to commissioning / developing solutions to commissioning and handover.
- Job requires flexible thinking and engineering and/or science background backed with operational engineering experience within waste management.
- Job requires interfacing with various divisions and personnel, with no direct reports, but dotted lines into various operational teams.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Education / Qualifications

Degree educated in Engineering or Science based discipline

IOSH / COSHH / HAZOP / CDM / Other engineering qualifications

Experience

Extensive experience in working on processes in the Energy from Waste plant sector.

Technical

Knowledge SCADA / FDS / RAMS / Pumps / Mechanical equipment (shredders, macerators etc).
