A leading global chemicals company are looking to appoint a Lead Electrical Technician for their manufacturing site in the North East of England.

Responsible for providing technically competent support and leadership to the electrical craftsman, you will have the prospect of making significant improvements and impacting change on the organisation.
The Role:
Fulfil day to day requirements of hands-on maintenance of plant equipment
Seek to expand knowledge and develop your trade skills beyond area of core competence.
Respond to break downs, execute preventative maintenance routines and support planned equipment outages to deliver efficient, right-first-time maintenance.
Coordinate the safe delivery of the daily maintenance and engineering work as requested by the Maintenance Manager. Deliver the work according to the plan and feedback on progress.
Utilise work management system to ensure that all work orders are planned/specified and completed safely, on time and to the required standard.
Investigate, report and recommend solutions for specific plant problems to deliver improved safety, reliability and availability. Consider cost effective solutions and follow management of change process when implementing solutions.
Assist with planning and preparation of work scopes for equipment down time and full plant outages. Provide inspection, quality control and supervision as required on projects and major overhauls.
The Person:
Level of education & experience in general
Minimum HNC in Electrical discipline.
Previous supervisory experience preferred but not mandatory.
Proven experience in technical problem solving and work execution.
Broad understanding of maintenance support and engineering.
Technical skills
Good understanding of manufacturing processes.
Ability to read P&IDs and mechanical/EI drawings
Working knowledge of standard IT systems MS Windows, Outlook, MS Excel and SAP
Behavioural skills
Strong safety focus.
Ability to impact technical knowledge through training and coaching others.
Ability to work with others as part of a team or individually.
Strong problem solving skills using methodical approach.
Committed and flexible approach to work.
Able to deal with people in more senior positions to seek information and to justify ideas/solutions to problems
