A new opportunity has become available for a Site Chemist to join an established hazardous and non hazardous waste company in Brownhills. This is an exciting opportunity for a chemistry graduate or experienced site chemist to start/continue their chemistry career, reporting to the Managing Director you will be working in a busy waste transfer station. The ideal candidate must be educated to degree level in BSc Chemistry or equivalent and have experience of analysing waste samples using basic wet chemistry. You will also need to hold a Full UK driving licence as occasional travel to other deports will be required. Benefits include free onsite parking, 28 days holiday and a permanent contract after a 12 week trial period.

THE JOB ROLE
Control and analysis of incoming wastes into a busy waste transfer station and completion of all necessary paperwork
Providing technical assistance to site operatives
Bulking up of hazardous waste when required
Managing daily site inspections and logs
Dealing with non conforming loads and quarantining those loads via technical admin
Analyzing waste samples using basic wet chemistry
12 week temporary to permanent position, Monday Friday 7am to 3.30pm and 2pm to 10.30pm on a fortnightly basis, Up to £24K depending on experience

EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT
Degree level qualification in BSc Chemistry is essential or equivalent too
Previous experience working within a waste transfer station would be favourable
Strong enthusiasm for a career in chemistry/environmental industry
Flexible attitude to working hours
Must be able to work in a challenging environment
A full driving licence is essential as you will be required to travel to various sites
