Design Engineer required for an exciting permanent opportunity with my client who are a leading global company designing and manufacturing special purpose machinery.

Responsibilities of the Design Engineer:

- Handle all aspects of design engineering work.

- Create and modify drawings.

- Occasional communicate with customers in the form of telephone calls, emails, meetings and presentations to understand and define their needs.

- Understand and respond to customer requests, both verbal and written.

- Design product to meet all requirements.

- Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.

- Read and interpret customer specifications, technical drawings, sales drawings, and 3D machine models.

- Research, design and evaluate mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet specified requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.

- Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions or deficiencies.

- Evaluate and select components and parts for the machines.

- Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications and drawing releases.

- Manage several projects at one time.

Requirements of the Design Engineer:

- Knowledge and experience in using 3D CAD software (preferably SolidWorks).
- Engineering Qualifications e.g. HND, HNC, Degree.
- Ideally 5+ years` experience in mechanical/product design on special purpose machinery or similar

Benefits: Overtime

Price / Salary: £35000 - £37000/annum + Overtime
