Lana Premadasa is currently recruiting for a Scientist to join one of the world's premier innovative biopharmaceutical companies in Kent, discovering and developing medicines, vaccines and consumer healthcare products. This role is offered on a full time temporary basis for 12 months, with the possibility of extension.

The role will require the successful candidate to have the ability to generate results following good laboratory practices such that the values are clearly documented, reproducible and can stand up to the rigor of an independent audit.

Your main responsibilities in this role will be:
- Determination of elemental impurity profiles of API's, excipients, drug products and packaging materials to enable understanding of composition
- Performing analytical tests including light microscopy, particle size analysis, spectroscopic and thermal techniques.
- Documenting observations through experiment completion, and often working outside of document driven procedures
- Compiling large sets of data to provide these to the project lead in a concise format.
- Plan and review work schedules to meet deadlines, communicate results clearly to supervisor

You are required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Have a BSc degree or equivalent in Chemistry or Engineering (or equivalent)
- Interpret results and use this to suggest further characterisation where applicable.
- Familiarity with physical property characterisation techniques (e.g. laser diffraction particle size, specific surface area)
- Demonstrated skills in the use and interpretation of thermal methods including differential scanning calorimetry and thermal gravimetric analysis
