Deputy Manager (RGN/RMN/RNLD)
Ashton Under Lyne, Tameside, Greater Manchester
£17.00 per hour (£34,000 to £39,000 per annum dependent on contracted hours)
---BACKGROUND---
TIME Recruitment is currently working with a large health & social care provider in selecting a Deputy Manager(RGN/RMN/RNLD) to serve at a mid-sized elderly care home in Ashton Under Lyne, Tameside. The service, which received 'Good' across five key lines when CQC visited in 2017, provides long-term nursing and residential dementia care to as many as 45 residents at a time. Some beds are also reserved for palliative and respite care.
---THE ROLE---
As a Deputy Manager, you will play a leading role in the provision of compassionate, personalised care and support to residents. Putting your nursing training to good use, you will be expected to utilise a range of clinical skills (PEG/NG feeds, catheterisation, etc) whilst also demonstrating a natural flair for leadership. Previous experience of leading a team within a care setting is essential.
Liaising closely with the Home Manager, you will be given an opportunity to lead teams of care staff on a daily basis. You will need a good working knowledge of CQC regulations and expectations, along with other relevant legislation. Ideally, you will have experience of developing a service as a senior nurse/manager within a similar environment.
The role combines clinical and supernumerary duties, roughly 50/50, offering you a real combination of close resident contact and genuine managerial responsibility. You will step up in the Home Manager's absence and be given a real insight into the operational side of the home. You will spend roughly a third of your time performing supernumerary duties.
---PROGRESSION POTENTIAL---
Our client offers an excellent induction programme, along with ongoing training and professional development. They offer an award-winning e-learning facility, and for nurses looking to progress, our client is large enough to provide realistic managerial progression paths.
The company also offers advanced specialist training in areas like dementia, infection control and palliative care. You will also be encouraged to progress through formal management qualifications should you wish to develop further.
---PAY & BENEFITS---
The job is full-time and offers a highly competitive salary of between £34,000 and £39,000, based on an hourly rate of £17.00. This is supplemented by:
- generous matched pension contributions
- NMC/DBS costs paid
