1. Educated to degree level in a relevant subject. *
2. Experience of working in a fast paced communications environment preferably in the public sector. *
3. Experience in developing and delivering communications strategies. *
4. Experience of contributing to strategic planning within this field including campaign management, press releases, news reports, statements and speeches. *
5. Good working knowledge of the range of communications channels and media available, including print, social and digital. *
6. Excellent administrative and IT skills (including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel). *
7. Must think creatively and strategically, as well as work calmly and collaboratively across teams in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. *
8. Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with superior attention to detail. *
9. Excellent communication, written and presentation skills.
10. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise a complicated workload.
11. Excellent interpersonal, communications, organisational, time management and multi-tasking skills.
12. Ability to work proactively, independently, but will always ask for feedback and guidance on all development work.
13. Good independent judgement, strategic vision and ability to challenge constructively.
14. Professional approach and positive attitude, with strong problem solving skills.
15. Ability to liaise professionally and build relationships with colleagues, clients and journalists.
16. Ability to deliver work to tight timescales without compromising on quality.

19. Press office duties including out of hours work as required.
