Are you a VBS developer that has experience with SQL coding? If so. check out the exciting opportunity below.
We have an exciting opportunity for a VBS developer to help build and expand our data processing capabilities. This new role will include the development of complex scripts from a library of functions to automatically process engine data as it arrives on the server, performing calculations and writing Meta data from the results. The role may also include continuous improvement of library functions, including statistical analysis, and development of graphical user interfaces.
The applicant will have excellent Visual Basic or Visual Basic Scripting skills with prior commercial experience of VB/VBS development on server applications. Prior experience of SQL coding, database manipulation, and administration is also required. The applicant will be self-motivated and able to communicate effectively within an engineering team.
Experience in Visual Studio, R and Python would be highly advantageous, as would experience of reading from and writing to multiple file formats, including HDF5 and XML.
Required qualifications:
* Industrial / commercial experience in Visual Basic / VBS scripting
* Solid understanding of statistics and statistical analysis
* SQL scripting
* Self-starter
Desired qualifications:
* Bachelors or Master's science degree (Information Technology / Computer programming / Engineering / Physics or equivalent)
* Python coding
* R coding
* Pattern Matching (awk, grep, perl, regular expressions)
* Prior experience with HDF5 format files
* Prior experience with XML format files
* Knowledge of diesel engine technology
