The Health & Safety Lead will manage the Central HS team to implement and monitor the Health & Safety as defined by the Programme Management Plan, as well as, defining the policies, processes and procedures necessary to ensure the company remains compliant with all current and applicable Industry and legislative requirements.

Responsibility & Accountability

Provide functional support, guidance and professional expertise to the Company on all health and safety matters affecting the programme so as to deliver successful execution of the works.

Lead/direct periodic meetings with the Project Managers.

Provide support to the Company on inspection and monitoring of the safety and environmental performance of projects and monitor so that a consistent approach is taken to contractor occupational and construction safety across all projects within the portfolio.

Work with delivery teams to determine practical and deliverable measures to improve health & safety performance within projects.

Support delivery teams in the investigation of accidents and incidents and in the implementation of resulting recommendations.

Co-ordinate the health & safety activities of the programme and maintain effective liaison with other Company Stakeholders and the Client.

As you will expect the organisation may change from time to time and you will be expected to meet the operational requirements.

Any other reasonable duties as required from time to time.

Person Specification

The job holder will have relevant Safety experience gained over a period of generally not less than 10 years, including:

Significant experience in the successful management of HSEA issues on major programmes of work in the construction and//or rail industries.

Shall have a NEBOSH Construction certificate
