An excellent opportunity for a Scientist (life science or chemistry background) looking to use their skills & knowledge in a scientific commercial role OR an experienced sales representative who is looking to progress into a specialist role with a global company.
This role involves managing large instrumentation projects at customer sites, as well as being the capital equipment expert for the sales team assisting with technical customer discussions.
PRODUCTS: Laboratory equipment, including automated cell counters, balances, centrifuges, incubators, ULT freezers, refrigerators, fume hoods, microplates, pcr instrumentation, microscopes and refractometers.
CUSTOMERS: Academic, Research, Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical Laboratories
TERRITORY: South-West UK (Cardiff, Bristol and Birmingham are key areas)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Effective Management of a strategically key customer accounts, to meet end user needs on time and within budget.
Sales and promotion of the laboratory instrumentation both directly to customers and via the wider sales team.
Potential to provide technical support to the wider sales team
Provide Advice and support in the preparation of quotations and tenders
Responsible for achieving sales and margin targets for the territory.
Work collaboratively with the commercial team and wider departments across the business to ensure the delivery of excellent customer service.
Establish relationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure support for business growth via joint marketing activity and price support.
Communicate in an accurate and timely manner with a variety of stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of key tasks.
Organise customer visits, attend independently or with wider sales team.
Organise and participate in local customer seminars, workshops, exhibitions and other networking events.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Degree or similar qualification in a science subject.
Post degree experience working in a laboratory, ideally with experience managing projects and delivering to strict timelines, OR experience working in scientific sales.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to produce accurate and punctual reports.
Ability to build strong relations with all customers and suppliers.
Knowledge of the laboratory supplies market.
Excellent computer skills, including excel
