About this Role:

A leading Civil Engineering Contractor is looking to engage a General Foreman to work on a Regional basis on a range of Civil Engineering projects. My client would be particularly interested in those with Infrastructure experience.

They are a respected and established business who has several strategically placed offices throughout the UK.

They generally focus on projects valued between £500K and £15M in value.

Their specialist areas include;

Highways & Bridges

River & Marine

MOD

Earthworks & Remediation

Flood Alleviation

Roles/Responsibilities;

Guiding and managing teams of Foremen, Engineers etc.

Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations;

Ensuring that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications;

Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant;

Managing, monitoring and interpreting the contract design documents supplied by the client or architect;

Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project;

Liaising with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress;

Planning the work and efficiently organising the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines;

Overseeing quality control and health and safety matters on site;

Preparing reports as required;

Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.

Additional duties will include Site Supervision, Managing Health & Safety, Report Writing, Toolbox talks, holding meetings, programming of works.

The Requirements

Preferably from a permanent background with a Principal Civils Contractor, it is expected that you have extensive, demonstrable experience in a Civil Engineering environment.

You will be in possession of SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS, First Aid, as well as lift supervisor, service coordinator, NRSWA and temporary works certificates would be highly advantageous.
