Apart of a well respected international automotive component supplier, they have recently moved into new engineering premises to produce complex high value components for the automotive industry.

Job Title: Senior Design Engineer / Principal Engineer
Industry: Precision mechanical engineering - automotive

Location: Worcestershire

Duties: o Lead engineering design activity to meet customers technical requirents from initial concept to production for the whole product life cycle. o Formally reviewing and controlling design changes during product lifecycle o Coordination of technical project activities within the company and directly to the customer. o Prepare designs and CAD models including full GD&T technical drawings using 3D CAD system. o Technically lead APQP process according to automotive customer requirements o Ensure customer requirements are captured and managed on time and to specification o Manage prototype build phase o DFMEA / DVP creation. o Supplier liaison during development and pre-launch phase to ensure parts are delivered on time

Experience required:
You will already in Senior Design Engineer or Principal Engineer capacity, whereby you can take a lead role but also be heavily involved in the detailed engineering o HNC/ Degree Engineering related discipline o Product design, development or project engineering experience o Experience or working knowledge of precision mechanical engineered products, ideally within the automotive industry. o Competent using 3D CAD tools, FEA analysis and using Matlab/ Simulink desirable o Experience of customer and supplier liaison, preferable with automotive OEM o Confident communicator both internally and to customers o Ability to work across multiple projects and prioritise accordingly o Driving license essential, frequent business travel in UK is required o Knowledge or interest in automotive component engineering related to driveline or transmission products would be ideal. Alternatively candidates with a background in brake systems, suspension, hydraulics or powertrain products would also be of interest.
