Hours: 21 hours per week.

We have been a charitable housing organisation for nearly 60 years. Throughout this time our residents are always at the heart of what we do and the services we provide. We are currently looking for a Kitchen?Assistant at our home in Withington.
?Main Duties and Responsibilities

To ensure a consistently high standard of kitchen cleanliness and food preparation
To be aware of the residents dietary requirements and hydration needs
To ensure that all aspects of the regulatory framework are met within the scope of this role as directed, including the Health and Social Care Act 2008
To ensure, working as part of a team within the home, that all residents? needs are fully met.
To manage the cleaning procedures and schedules for the kitchen in accordance with Environmental Health standards and those expected by the Cook.
To undertake basic food and drink preparation as directed by the Cook.
To take heated food trolleys to relevant dining areas ready for care staff to serve as directed by the Cook.
To be responsible for the daily use of catering equipment and reporting any defects to the Cook/Home Manager/Maintenance person.
To ensure the correct use of all equipment and products in line with COSHH requirements.
To ensure all deliveries received are correctly placed into fridge / freezers or store areas.
To keep the kitchen and store areas in a clean and hygienic condition.
Ensure all food related activities comply with food safety regulations and the completion of all relevant records in relation to food safety as directed.

Required Skills and Experience:

Ability to communicate and interact well with people
To be able to read and write to a good standard
Ability to work well as part of a team.
Demonstrate an empathy and understanding of the needs of older people???? to a high standard at all times
Ability to carry out all aspects of the role
Food Hygiene certificate or willingness to complete
