We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Network Administrator for a defence equipment manufacturing company based in Broadstairs.
The Network Administrator will be responsible for keeping the companies IT System running efficiently, addressing any issues and solving them in the given time frame. The person will be responsible for keeping the IT systems up to date and ensure the threat of potential security attacks is kept to a minimum.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate effective communication skills, be able prioritise and solve issues, support and run department projects. The ideal candidate will have great attention to detail, be able to work with little supervision and be able to manage their own workload. We are looking for someone who is customer focused, flexible with a positive 'can do' attitude. You must also be comfortable with working in the defence and security sectors.
The duties include:
* Advising company staff/managers/directors on in-house solutions and improvements and liaising with external support companies and software resellers/support companies,
* Troubleshooting client, network and customer related problems and repair and maintenance of network and client-level hardware,
* Ensuring routine network security maintenance is carried out in line with procedures,
* Creating and de-activating domain users according to industry standard procedures,
* Maintaining regular housekeeping of domain services according to strict schedules,
* Organising company data, file security in line with company policy, procedures and industry standard procedures/practices,
* Implementing, monitoring and maintaining successful backups of company data,
* Implementing and installing new servers (physical and virtual) according to on site needs of administration and engineering staff,
* Creation and updating of company IT policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in computing or a computer related field desirable,
* Professional IT certification (can include vendor neutral) desirable.
Experience and Knowledge Required:
* Experience within a similar role,
* Experience of installing and configuring servers.
* Microsoft Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012 / Windows XP, 7, 8.1, 10,
* Active Directory, Group Policy Manager and Exchange,
* Microsoft Office applications, Viseo,
* VMware and VEEAM,
* Firewall systems - Watchguard System manager and Policy manager,
* Microsoft EMS,
* VoIP phone/unified messaging systems - Lync Server 2013 & Skype for Business.
