Mechanical Design Engineer working for a well established engineering business in Manchester.

Your new company
Your new company is a globally recognised engineering business based in Manchester who specialise in the design & manufacture of a number of highly complex cable products. You will be joining a forward thinking, hardworking, dedicated design team in a mechanical engineer capacity to support their current growth.

Your new role
In your new role you will maintain current products and design new parts and assemblies from conception through to completion. You will write specifications and create detailed design drawings using 2D and 2D CAD systems. You will perform mechanical calculations and play an active part in product simulation. You will work within the design team to research new developments and perform design optimisation to reduce cost. You will also be involved in a number of reverse engineering projects.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will need to have at a minimum a HNC in mechanical engineering, but ideally a BEng. You will need to have at least 5 years experience in a design role and ideally have worked with mechanical handling equipment, materiel handling equipment, cable connectors or any form of complex mechanical components. You must have experience with 3D CAD software, ideally Autodesk Inventor.
