Solutions Recruitment are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a Globally renowned automotive manufacturer based in Staffordshire. We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer on a permanent basis.
The Role:
As a Senior Quality Engineer, your role will be to co-ordinate and provide support for operations in maintaining high levels of product quality through being the technical knowledge holder in quality techniques. You will also be responsible for maintaining a high degree of customer liaison as well as ensuring the delivery of required targets of manufacturing operations by providing quality functional support to the site.
The post holder will contribute to the implementation and continued development of an integrated Quality Assurance approach, ensuring that departmental strategies and objectives are in line with those of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinating development and maintenance of quality documentation and controls.
Understanding and utilisation of Automotive Core tools such as APQP, PPAP, PFMEA processes.
Coordination of compilation of customer specific documentation.
Champion to promote compliance to company systems, procedures and control plan requirements.
To be a capable user of core quality tools & techniques and their application, typically: SPC, Ishikawa, Histograms, Pareto Charts, Scatter Diagrams, Stratification etc
Provide and communicate Quality / process data to the Manufacturing Teams and facilitate actions to improve.
Coordination and supporting the Internal manufacturing teams with regard to the timely resolution of Customer and Internal quality concerns.
Monitor relevant KPI s for Dept. and report where required.
Support the NPI teams during the development of Controls Plans, PFMEA, Gauge Planning etc. and highlight potential failure modes ref Lessons Learnt.
Manage the activities of Quality Engineers. Provide appropriate training for other roles within the department.
Support the Internal Audit team by performing various Internal Audits.
Pro-actively visit customer / supplier locations to resolve customer concerns and maintain high levels of customer liaison.
Key Requirements
Proven background in successful application of QA techniques supported by excellent problem solving skills.
Current driving license, as travel to other UK sites and suppliers will be required as and when necessary.
Possess the ability to lead and motivate a small team of people with confident presentation skills to promote ideas to the team and motivate them to achieve results.
Demonstrates a positive attitude towards change, with a willingness to be flexible and adapt to new circumstances.
The ability to lead cross functional team members.
Results driven, with the enthusiasm and resilience to see a job well done through effective ownership.
A proven background of leadership abilities combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The Person:
Educated to a minimum HNC level in an Engineering/Manufacturing discipline
Quality Assurance Qualification would be beneficial - IQA/CQI
Appropriate experience working within an Automotive high volume customer facing Senior role with good working knowledge of IATF16949 / ISO9001
Thorough knowledge of Quality Management Systems and OEM Customer Specific Requirements
Understanding and utilisation of APQP, PPAP and PFMEA processes
Possess the ability to lead and motivate teams of people.
Demonstrates a positive attitude towards change, with a willingness to be flexible and adapt to new circumstances.
Good interpersonal and organisation skills with a working style which includes close attention to detail.
Results driven, with the enthusiasm and resilience to see a job well done through effective ownership.
Confident presentation skills to promote ideas to the team and motivate them to achieve results.
