Are you currently working in children's services but looking for a step up? Do you believe that every young person has the chance of a better future? If so, we would love to speak to you about a permanent Team Leader role in our client's therapeutic children's home.
We are seeking a Team Leader for a residential children's home in the Stoke area which provides support to young people 11-18 who display a range of complex social, emotional and behavioural disorders and who may have come from difficult backgrounds. This home focuses specifically on mental health issues (CAMHS) within a young person.
This is a full-time permanent position of 40-42 hours per week, offering a competitive salary of up to £9.60 per hour (£18,720-£19,968 per annum) PLUS the opportunity to develop further in your career. You will be supporting and developing the team, motivating them to be the best role models they can be for the young people in your care.
Needs catered to in the service may include:
- Eating disorders/mental health issues
- Inappropriate sexualised behaviours
- Self-harm
- Youth offending/anti-social behaviour
- Persistent absconding
- Multiple failed placements
Responsibilities:
* Supervisory duties including supervision of staff team on shift, appraisals, identifying training needs and deputising for the manager as required
* To participate in the day-to-day operation of the service provided in accordance with organisational guidelines and objectives.
* To run in-house workshops as required
* Creating a natural, nurturing, family environment for the young people (where possible)
* Addressing negative and self-destructive behaviour and promoting positive/constructive behaviours with the young people in the service
* Assist with the personal and professional development of team members and provide an effective link between young people, team members and senior management.
Requirements:
* Minimum Diploma/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care- Children & Young People
* 1 years relevant supervisory experience in either a Senior or Team Leader position
* Must have full driving licence
* 2 years experience in a residential children's setting
* Committed to promoting and providing an excellent standard of care to the services users.
