Our client are a highly respected Light to Medium Engineering Manufacturing Business who has been recognised in their industry with many awards including the queen`s award for export on two occasions.
They have an urgent requirement for an Electro/Mechanical Technician , temp basis to cover sickness/holidays. (4 weeks)
Purpose of the job
To consistently build and calibrate instruments and any accessories to the highest quality, without any defects and in the required time.
Job spec:
- Apprentice trained in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Cross training to the weaker discipline will be provided.
- We need someone who is experienced - ideally 5 years
- Hours 7am - 3.30 Mon - Thursday and 7am -12.30 Fridays ( 38 per week)
- Hourly rate will be £12.55
Key accountabilities
- Be a contributing member of the Production Team.
- Set and maintain high standards with regard to Quality.
- To ensure that all parts, products and services are at the level of quality that is expected and that all ISO 9001:2008 procedures are followed. Ensure satisfactory measurement equipment is used and that the quality plans are maintained, they should be used/checked on a daily basis.
- To consistently build and calibrate Mechanical and Electrical instruments, components, and any accessories to the highest quality, without any defects and in the required time, both from a mechanical and electrical skill set.
- Ensure that Quality plans; NCR`s, Change Proposals, etc. are used and kept up to date.
- Ensure that any changes necessary to build manuals are identified to the Team Leader.
- Ensure Timesheets are accurate and filled in Daily, not once per week, with the correct work order numbers and times.
- Contribute to both Lean activities and initiatives.
- Keep the working area clean and tidy at all times ensuring 5S methodology is used. Use a "clean as you go" method, not wait until the area is messy/untidy.
- At the end of each build check for any un-used or over-picked parts and return them to stock using the correct procedure (i.e. using DC personnel and making sure the parts are identified, marked up and bagged).
- Ensure all Health and Safety procedures are followed and highlight any risks to either yourself or others, no matter how trivial. All issued PPE must be worn.
- Ensure all jobs are built in accordance to the build manual and the complete manual returned to the cabinet once the job is completed.
- Contribute to any changes to build manual via the team leader.
- Ensure all software installed correctly and of the right revision.
- Contribute to any Quality improvements
- To ensure that they are aware of and comply with the QA policy and procedures
Price / Salary: £13/hour
