Automotive Vehicle Technician / Motor Mechanic Required For Used Car Dealer - Portsmouth

Our Client, a Used Car Dealer requires a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join their team in a fast paced working environment in Portsmouth. The applicant will have skills in all aspects of vehicle repairs and servicing including, but not limited to, diagnostics and electronics. The applicant will be motivated by set targets and will be able to work with a degree of flexibility according to the needs of your team.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection
Ensure all mechanical and electrical components are in good working order and not becoming worn or faulty. Check the status of moving parts and pertinent parts of the vehicle such as tyres and transmission to ensure the vehicle is running at its utmost capability. Remove all road wheels to perform thorough brake inspection. Carry out road test on the pre-determined road test route. Complete necessary paperwork confirming the vehicles inspection and highlight any work needed to be carried out on the vehicle.

Fault Diagnostics
Utilising the relevant diagnostic equipment trace any stored faults within the vehicles engine management system. If appropriate, test drive the vehicle presenting the fault. Pinpoint the problem and determine which parts are needed to repair the vehicle.

Repairs
Make necessary repair/replacement to any faulty or worn vehicle components this includes brakes, clutches, engines, transmission, electrical wiring and cooling systems along with internal components such as seat belts, handbrakes etc.

Hours
Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm & 1 in 2 Saturdays 8:30am - 12:30pm (1 & ½)

Package & Benefits
Up to £26,000 Basic & £29,000 On Target Earnings Depending On Experience

Requirements
Due to the nature of the role all applicants must be fully qualified up to NVQ L3.
