Ascentia are currently recruiting for Control Room Operators to join an established waste management company based in Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire.

Immediate starts in place with ongoing work based on performance.

2x Shift Patterns:

06:00 - 14:00
14:00 - 22:00

Rate of pay: £10ph

Control Room Operative Duties:

To ensure the daily start-up operation is successful
Build and maintain a strong Health & Safety culture within the organisation and people
To log maintenance tasks from checks made by site operatives.
To log and report downtime of plant
To provide a contact point for the site
To monitor the whole site through the PCS System
To monitor operations, linking with maintenance activities
To maintain close interaction with all operatives to ensure the plant runs efficiently
Aim to maximise production
To control and screen monitor environmental systems including acid scrubbers, bio-filters and compost temperatures.
To ensure monitoring of the water balance usage on the site is adequate for all operations
To manage the Fire and security arrangements via CCTV and fire suppression systems
To work closely with the Supervisor and Plant Manager to ensure the MBT plant is working to installed H& S, environmental and quality systems

Candidate Requirements:

Previous experience in a similar role
Will have process knowledge
Understand PCS and SCADA systems
Good understanding of various computer systems
High standards of literacy and numeracy
OrganiSed
Good time management
Good communicator
Please note drug & alcohol test will take place during the induction.
